Brown Bird are one of our favorite local bands, and two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Since being diagnosed with leukemia in May 2013, Dave Lamb received a bone marrow transplant and has been recovering at home ever since. The local community sprung to action, organizing a number of benefit shows (including a raucous sold out show at the Columbus last June), and raising money online (nearly $80,000 was raised by fans!). We’ve been thinking about Dave constantly, and look forward to his full recovery and return to our stage.
The organization HeadCount (which does a lot of incredible work registering people to vote at shows and festivals) filmed this video with Dave and MorganEve explaining their situation and how health insurance was essential for Dave being able to get the treatment he needed.
