On September 25, 2016, the Columbus Theatre is hosting a concert to benefit the Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence (RICAGV), as part of the Concerts Across America to End Gun Violence, which is helping build momentum to make gun safety a major issue in this upcoming election. Please help us by joining fellow artists and community members for a concert to help ensure our society is doing everything it can to prevent another Orlando, Charleston, and Newtown.
The RICAGV is dedicated to passing common sense laws to end gun violence, introducing three bills that all died in committee this year: 1) no guns in k-12 schools 2) no guns for misdemeanor domestic violence offenders 3) limit to gun magazines to ten rounds. These measures are well supported by our RI Congressmen, and the majority of gun owners and gun-free households in Rhode Island. The bills have been killed in committee due to our leaders unwillingness to step up to the plate on an issue they feel they can table, and still get re-elected. This is our chance to let our political leaders know that we are tired of waiting, and we demand action now. It is time to push back and make our voices heard.
Please join us on Sunday, September 25th, on our US National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims, at the Columbus Theatre (270 Broadway Providence, RI 02903) at 6pm for a concert and rally in support of the efforts of the RICAGV and like-minded gun safety organizations around the country, who, joining together as part of the Concert Across America, will combine into one nation-wide call to action for an end to the epidemic of gun violence that plagues our communities, and country.
